Close examination reveals only a few minor repairs over time, such as hidden reinforcements of the feet and a joined and glued vertical crack at the lower right door panel. Also a couple of early and aged repairs near the lower door hinges, made with slightly darker walnut inserts. The insides of the glazed top were likely painted white at one time and stripped later on, judging from a few minimal traces. The center shelf inside the base appears to be a later addition, but all the back, top and bottom panels are original. The walnut surfaces have an excellent patina with exceptional deep brown-reddish toning, that is very playful in various lighting conditions. The original door hinges have moderate play as expected, but all doors close and fit nicely. All locks are functional. We recently cleaned everything inside & out, and applied a fresh coat of fine antique wax. Too, we added two hidden bolts to hold top and bottom together more securely. The lighting installation was added in the late 1970's and we just refreshed it with all new incandescent bulbs and new power supply. No odors, except for a discreet antique wax scent. Setup is an easy task and detailed instructions will be included. Overall very solid and stable. Ready for show & use. These and other details are shown in 39 large pictures, viewable by .
