STARTS AT JUST $9.99 AND LISTED WITH NO RESERVE PRICE. ANTIQUE YOMUD TURKOMAN KELIM PRAYER SAF, Central Asia, West Turkestan, last quarter of the 19th century, and in PRISTINE original condition for the collector. Exact size is: 6'-6" x 9'-4" (198 x 285 cm). Fresh from source acquisition in Turkmenistan. A flatwoven antique Yomud Turkmen multi-niche kelim with an arrangement of vertical chevron stripes in reds, indigo blues, camel, and white cotton all finely brocaded in a crosshatch grid. All of the colors are natural with the possible exception of the soft red dye lot which seems to me to be the Russian red ponceau # 2 analine. However, I witness NO color run, nor any bleeding of the dyes. T are NO rips, holes, repairs, stains, odor, stiffness or dry areas, and no moth damage. This weaving comes complete with its original checkerboard side cord overcastings and original end finishes of braided warps and tent hangers. It is in just PERFECT original condition having been found stored away in a dowry trunk in Turkmenistan recently. If you have any questions, only email Michael Phillips at or call my studio at . Please view all of the other fine antique weavings of merit I have listed this week and bookmark my seller ID imokub2 to your "favorite sellers" list if you wish to see weekly future offerings having this age, beauty, condition, quality, rarity, and collectability. BID WITH CONFIDENCE. ALL my eBay postings come with an unconditional 100% money back refund guarantee if for any reason the winning bidder is unhappy with their purchase from me. THIS ITEM STARTS AT JUST $9.99 AND IS LISTED WITH NO RESERVE PRICE. GOOD LUCK BIDDING.
ADDENDUM: To view a near identical published example like my listing, albeit attributed to the Tekke Turkoman, late 19th century, refer to: Uwe Jourdan, "Oriental Rugs Volume 5 Turkoman", page 110, plate 55. In addition, t is an older specimen in the Joesph McMullan Collection published as plate 134 in "Islamic Carpets", and another specimen published by LeFevre & Partners, London, 1976, as plate 27. If you collect antique Turkoman weavings or antique flatwoven textiles, this is a prime opportunity to obtain a perfectly preserved specimen of one of these rare types.
