Exceptional Rare 1929 Mahogany Executive Leopold Desk Unique Rare Design, Mahogany Inlaid Band Top For your consideration an outstanding 1929 Mahogany Executive Desk made by the Leopold Desk Company. This desk has had only one owner in the last 40 years. The desk was featured on the cover of the 1929 "Proceedings of the Leopard Dealers' Convention" (see photo). The University Of Iowa have some Leopold catalogs online but none from this time period. http://cdm./cdm4/index_desks.php?CISOROOT=/desks Leopold Desk Company was world renown for the high quality of their desks. All desks were hand made by skilled craftsmen. Native oaks and maples were used, mahogany and other woods were imported, but all the wood was sent to New York to be processed (special drying process) and then shipped back. Construction costs were expensive relative to other desk manufacturers at this time. Having viewed many of the catalogs I have discovered that this desk is much more ornate than the other desks Leopold had been producing through 1930.
