The craftsmanship and attention to detail on this 6" X 10" X 9 1/2" Black Forest Goat Head carving is truly awe inspiring. My research estimates this piece to be well over 100 years old. In all my time on e-bay I have only seen one item even remotely like this one. This item does have some flaws due to its considerable age. T are several scratched, nicks and spots w the paint in thin. The leaf cluster on the left has a large chip on it and appears to have been broken at one point and glued back together. The tips of each horn have been broken off and are missing. It also seems as though the back has been altered to allow the addition of eye hooks for mounting. However, I feel these "beauty marks" only add to its mystique. If you are a collector or investor, this rare antique carving is the find of a century! Don't pass this up!!!!
