MLN 504 / Antique Arch Top Striking Burled Walnut Armoire ~ This is one of the most stylish armoires we've ever seen. We've had it tucked away in the back corner of our warehouse, w it's been covered with old quilts just waiting for its day in the sun and now that day has arrived: isn't it magnificent? Being shiny of finish and just polished, it was difficult to get good photos of this piece. Most are a little dark. The largest photo is most accurate for richness of tone and coloring on our monitor. Though each monitor may vary, be assured this is a marvelous warm walnut tone, richly varied with the burled grain. This gorgeous old piece is deeper than most armoires, and it has that amazing solidly formed stepped and arched top that's so remarkable. Adding to its ultra stylish, ultra sophisticated presence, is the taller-than-average cabriolet-legged base. We keep saying "incredible," but it is, truly, and so lovely. Any flashy light spots you see are camera or light reflection . The finish on this piece is even and lovely. The solid walnut sides join a deeply paneled solid tiger oak back. The doors are ornamented with a very rare burled/distressed walnut, almost like a chittam burl. It's a rare beauty, and something modern furniture makers would weep, gnash and rend over: this beautiful finish cannot be duplicated in modern furniture made to look distressed. It has texture so you can actually feel the swirls and dots in the wood. Amazing. The interior is roomy and well fitted and with sufficient room to make this a media cabinet. Grand little compartment at the top t, kind of under-the-rafters. Hanging bar, hooks, all of which simply add to the exceptional beauty of this piece. Oh, and the jaunty legs have carved knees with original golden paint. Armoires don't get much better than this: sleek, sophisticated, elegant. And French, best of all. Condition is fine, no concerns Glorious piece of furniture. SIZE: 47 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 83.5 inches tall; inside clear space in the lower cabinet is 45 x 19 x 53.75 SHIPPING: $169.50 takes it to your nearest freight terminal for pickup, just as we used to pick up packages from the old catalog stores.
