This is a very rare beautiful original late 1800's to early 1900's Buffalo (summer hide) fur lap robe (or buggy blanket). Has it's original lable "The Perfection Robe". Fur is pliable and in remarkable condition considering it's age! Shows honest wear in normal logical places like the edges and especially the wool felt edge binding around the outside. Size is 60 inches long by about 48 inches at the widest. It is made from multiple hide pieces hand sewn together! Does have a couple loose pieces - repairable. For reference - the pictures were taken on a king size bed! Backing is all original coarse flax? type material that was cut with a pile to represent a faux fur. Shows wear in places w one can see the old coarse woven pattern underneith. This would be perfect for historical decorating or possibly reenacting like a primitive mountain man or maybe a native indian impression! A truly very unique and extremely rare original piece! Reasonable reserve for such a rare piece in very nice condition. Money Orders please. USPS Money Orders prefered. Buyer pays actual shipping charges. I always ship within 24 hrs of receiving payment.
