This is just superb. Approx. 9 1/2 inches tall by approx. 5 inches in length. Wood looks to be walnut, The carving is magnificent. I am not sure if it French or if it is German Black Forest. The cherub seems to be kneeling on a grass mound and supporting a cornucopia on its arm and shoulder. T is a scroll carved aperture for the timepiece. It is lined in brown felt. The details of the cherub and his fabulous face, amazing detailed wings and wonderfully carved hands and feet. The cornucopia is a superb example with scrollwork . An absolute work of art. Looks to be 1880's. A few old age cracks, one to his foot and at the top of the cornucopia. A very old chip to the bottom left mound and a chip to the tip of the wings. This would be the focal piece of any watch stand collection. Payment is due in 7 days.
