This is a beautiful sumptuous shallow bowl with pierced handles. The four hand painted floral and scrolled panels have a tracery of lacey gold background. T is heavy hand painted gold throughout with a gilt on cobalt border. It is held in an old fashioned spring wire plate hanger, which has not inflicted any apparent damage to the bowl itself. If the purchaser wishes to have it removed, we recommend that it be done by a professional. To the underside is the green under glaze Noritake mark. It was registered in England in 1908 and in Japan in 1911, for export to England and her colonies. Dimensions: Handle to handle -10âe; diameter 9âe; height 1 3⁄4âe. It is in excellent antique condition, with no chips, cracks, etc. T is a spot of wear to one of the handles âe" otherwise minimal wear. A richly decorated piece with the Art Nouveau flair of early Noritake export ware.
