~ ~ ~ ~ ~ BEYOND WORDS ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Note : My apologies to the honest Ebay customers who so generously placed their bids on these mugs when they were previously listed, just to have a fraudulent bidder force the auction to be cancelled. I am so sorry! The auction you are viewing is for an original, hand wrought set of four coin silver pedestal mugs. I purchased these at an upscale estate in Naples, Florida. This was an amazing estate sale in a home nestled on the Gulf of Mexico. It was loaded with antique silver items as well as Waterford crystal, Limoges porcelain, Murano art glass and a miriad of incredible collectibles. I thought I was in heaven! When I saw these beautiful tankards, I knew I had to have them. They are truly magnificent! This wonderful set of hand tooled mugs are nice and heavy, weighing in at a total of 992 grams or 2 pounds & 3 ounces of coin silver. Because they were each crafted by hand they vary slightly in individual weight. In my research, I found that coin silver has tripled in value in the last several years. Each of these stunning mugs stand 5 1/4" high and measure 3 5/16" across the base and 2 7/8" across the top of the cup. The lovely scrolled handle is 4 1/4" high and protrudes 1 3/4". I will try to let the pictures tell the story as this rare set of tankards are really "beyond words"! Each of these special mugs are marked silver; two have the imprint on the bottom and the other two are marked on the bottom rim of the base. I was told that these were created during the early 1900's. The tooling details are absolutely gorgeous. I especially love the nice rolled lip on the top of the cup. The workmanship is impeccable. I would say that these cups most likely came from Mexico or possibly Peru, but since they are not marked, I cannot be sure. Regardless of their origin, they are spectacular! This set is "Fit for Royalty"! These rare and extraordinary mugs are in mint condition. They have always been showcased and never used. They are so perfect in fact, that they are flawless! I will be listing more items from this estate soon. Please check my feedback...you will not be disappointed! HAPPY BIDDING! QUESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!
