Up for bid is a fantastic antique table. The photos will probably describe it more aptly than I can put into words. This Victorian beauty is the real thing - no reproduction - and it is being offered with no reserve, so bid to own. I am promoting it for a friend who owned this table for about 65 years, so I know it had good care, used in the home. The table's marble top measures 30" x 22" and is ¾" thick. (weighs about 45#) It has molded edges and chamfered corners. T are no cracks, chips or repairs, but it does sport a 5" diameter ring in the top center. The table base that supports the marble top measures 28-1/2" x 20-1/2" in size. (Table base is 29-1/4" high and weighs about 60#) This exquisite piece measures 30" in height, and what is so unusual about this particular table is that it has 2 shelves . The bottom shelf is 9" from the floor, while the 2 nd or upper shelf is 18-1/2" from the floor. These 2 shelf areas are finished in a high gloss, and the areas themselves measure in at 20" x 16" in size. Just look at the hand work in this piece - carved and spooned areas, porcelain casters, arched support legs (highly decorated), suspended balls on the corners, and the list goes on. I believe this table to be made of a blend of mahogany and cherry woods. I am NOT an expert, but I am using my experience to make the best guess. Due to the weight AND the beauty of this magnificent piece, it will be a pick-up at Oberlin, Ohio, which is located about 50 miles south and slightly west of Cleveland.
