This is my favorite piece of the museum deaccessioned material and the only reason I am parting with it is my wife says that we have to downsize and t won't be room at the next place. I feel this is a rare old Mexican pottery bottle by a wonderful Mexican potter the name of which I can't fully make out but it looks like Domidan Palounim or something close to that. It is 10" in height and approximately 5" at the widest part of the body. I'm quite sure that is Tonala and the depictions of the Mexican spread eagle, the alpaca, trees and flowers are simply breathtaking......the round body runs up to 12 sided neck decorated in a unique agave leaf with black drops that resemble lizards. T is a small rim chip on the bottom that doesn't detract from this wonderful piece...the colors and the polished finish are stunning. The artist's name is impressed into the bottom and the museum number, 6595a, has been crossed out. It is little wonder that this magnificent piece found its way to a museum and now you have a chance to own it.......Happy Hunting!!!
