antique Victorian era collectible Ice Cream Pewter mold ! This double-sided and hinged pewter of a Grape leaf ice cream mold is from the late 1800s or early 1900's. .It is number 196 on the Krauss catalog. The aged insides of this antique mold has rally nice detailed fine quality with really nice texture on the outside too. See all pics please Overall it is in mint condition. it is 9 1/2" wide open.4 wide closed . It fits together perfect looks almost new. The inside is usable and reasonably clean but because of lead content not recommended for food. I will combine shipping. T IS NO RESERVE AND THE HIGH BIDDER WILL OWN THIS MOLD. A little about ice cream molds, Most ice cream molds, were made of pewter and were two part, hinged and heavy, in order to hold the cold temperature longer, but un mold the ice cream easily. Along with the 20th century came commercialized commemoration of more and more holidays and these decorative molds were made to help people celebrate these events. Now Ice Cream molds have become collectors items and are going up in value T were mainly three early 20th century American companies who designed and manufactured ice cream molds.
