You are looking at a Royal Doulton Toby Jug style Tobacco jar. This jar is marked on the bottom and reads ROYAL DOULTON LAMBETH ENGLAND 8593. From what I could find, this is dated from 1896. This is a fine earthenware. This jar is in very good condition for age. It look just like a Toby jug, but is a jar or humidor. It measures about 4 3/4" Tall X 5 3/4" Round. T are no chips or cracks in the base of the jar. The lid does have a brake in it. It is missing a piece. See pictures. The spring loaded handle works good. Looks like the jar still seals. Nice antique display piece!
