Antique Russian copper sauce pans, especially those that are in excellent condition, signed and dated, are rare. This one is in excellent condition, with no dents, dings, or repairs. Imprinted on the underside of the brass handle are two imperial seals (double eagle), one with 1882, and the other with 1896 (see photo). Its diameter is 7 1/4" without handle; 14" with handle; height is 5 1/4"; and of quality workmanship, it weighs 4 1/2 pounds. The brass handle is attached to the body with three flat copper rivets. Some copper is showing through the tinning on the bottom of the inside, the result of use. It has been professionally polished. This piece is indicative of the high quality of Russian antique copperware. They don't get any better than this one.
