A stunning, rare and substantialpiece that (although antique) has a strong (yet hand-wrought) contemporary feel and looks incredible as a modern accessory.
Once upon a time, this type of bracelet made the occasional appearance on eBay, but those pieces all seem to have been picked up by collectors long ago, leaving this sterling Victorian offering rare and very desirable, and seldom seen anymore except at Victorian jewelry collector sites. These items (if you can find them) routinely sell for $12-1700+, as did this piece originally. *Check listing at Ruby Lane Antiques for comparable item and pricing: /shops/angusattic/item/100073 I certainly have no finer piece in my collection. Bracelet Description: Not only are the matching malachite stones stunning in themselves due to being chosen for malachite quality and interest in stone patterning, but each stone was first hand-carved and then set in a beautifully crafted chased silver link or setting. No hand-made link or hand-carved adornment is exactly alike, adding to the interest of the piece. All sterling link sections are strongly jointed making this item both secure and comfortable to wear. Considerable sterling content, i.e. no hollow links or pieces in the entire bracelet. Measures 7 1/4" or 18.5 cm. it is also 1 3/4" or 4.5 cm. at the widest point. The craftsmanship in this piece is exceptional, the stones stunning, and the waves of the colors in the malachite are unlike any of the newer stones mined I have ever seen. The effect is nearly hypnotic, and yet subtle. Overall: This bracelet, the highlight of my Scottish collection, is recognizably a very desirable piece for the true collector of Victorian Scottish hand-crafted sterling rarities. *Addendum: Shipping insurance offered.
