Extraordinary autograph letter of MARIA CALLAS(1923-1977) the best Opera singer of the post-World war. In the letter sent to the important Italian Conductor Gianandrea Gavazzeni, she thanks the Conductor for his interest in her health and she assures him that she feels better. "Dear Maestro, thanks for your sincere greetings. Now I feel much better. I wish all the best for you too. sincerely yours Maria" The letter is complete of its envelope dated January 29th, 1963. Maria Callas (Greek: Μαρία Καλογεροπούλου) (December 3, 1923 - September 16, 1977) was an American-born Greek soprano and perhaps the best-known opera singer of the post-World War II period. She combined an impeccable bel canto technique with great dramatic gifts, making her the most famous opera singer of the era.
