An interesting circus parade stereoview " Barnum's Circus Parade." An overview of the procession with 3 camels in the foreground with costumed riders and a man guiding them. T are 7 costumed riders on horses in front and behind the camels. Behind the horses are 2 of Phineas T. Barnum elephants - a small one and a very large one with a rider's tent shelter on top. In front of the elephants is a marcher holding up a sign which has painted elephants on it. Circa mid to late 1880s on an oversized cabinet card. Right image slightly lighter, o/w near excellent. This view was taken from an unusual 2nd story perspective. At the left side of the view in the foreground, one can see a man sitting right on the edge of an open window. The stencil lettering on the glass reads "The Daily Tribune," a newspaper. The street is lined with spectators. Location unknown. Fine three-dimensional effect in a viewer. A rare view of the parade and the many spectators. See all 3 scans. Buyer pays shipping. Payment by PayPal, money order or check. The Reserve is $ 175.
