Hard to find Realtone TR-555 'Galaxy', 4 transistor 'shirt pocket' radio in near mint condition. BRAND: Realtone
MODELNR.: TR-555 'Galaxy' MFG.DATE: 1958 MANUFACTURER: Realtone, Japan This very nice designed Realtone TR-555 'Galaxy' is a 4 transistor radio and dates from 1958. The Realtone TR-801 'Electra' from a year later looks almost identical, but has two transistors more. The cabinets of the early Realtones were made of very thin plastic and tfore it's hard to find these radio's without any damage. This clean and shiny black example was very well preserved though and is without any chips, cracks, dents, corrosion, scratches or repairs. It's in excellent, near mint cosmetical condition. It even has the original decal with the modelnr. at the back. The radio is also in working condition. I received a few stations along the AM band, but volume was a bit low. This very rare and hard to find little 'shirt pocket' radio displays great and will be a great addition to any transistor radio collection.
