You are bidding on a Vintage RARE Blacksmith Germantown Tool Works Club Anvil Hammer Newly installed finished hickory handle, matching original length Sub title,.... 1880's - 1890's Club hammer, Straight Peen, 7 lbs The hammer was recently obtained from an estate sale, and was a part of a blacksmith shop and a blacksmithing tool collection. The tool is vintage and was well cared for. I will be listing several more Blacksmith hammers and Tools in the next few days, Check out my other items !I'm not sure, but I believe this is referred to as a Club Hammer with a straight peen end. The hammer was manufactured by the short lived company, the Germantown Tool Works, in Philadelphia, PA., that I believe was in operations from the early 1880's thru about 1894 .The hammer head is stamped on one side Germantown Tool Works, Solid C.S . and a number 7 The hammerhead is 6 7/8" wide, with a 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" wide hammer face and a 2 1/2" straight peen end. The hammer is approx. 18" overall in length, and weighs approx. 7 lbs 11 ozs., including the handle. I believe the hammerhead is approx 7 lbs. The hammer is in good condition, the head has been cleaned and rub coated with black paint and then oil. As with the vintage of the tool, t is some normal wear hammering dings, and has some chip outs on the peen end and the hammer face, and a cuts an scratches, all as noted from the photos. The Hammer would greatly enhance any collection or use it as a working tool . The Hammer is SOLD AS IS with NO RESERVE. email questions before bidding. Check out my other items !
