I'm listing an early all brass restored General Electric desk fan. I took a magnet and tested all of the parts (blades, fan guard, motor stand, motor housing, screws, motor mount, etc.) and the magnet didn't stick to anything other than the base tilting screw and two base screws that hold the fan switch in the base. The magnet tried to stay on the motor housing, but it was picking up the steel in the motor coils. This fan runs off of 110 volts. The blades track straight when the fan is running. The fan has three speeds high, medium, and low. None of the blade guard wires are broken around the guard ring. The only two flaws I can find on this wonderful fan are the brass label has a split and right below the label in picture number four you can see a single split or crack in the motor housing. Both of these faults have been t for a long time and really don't take away from the looks or operation of this fan. In fact you don't even notice them, but I wanted to point it out. I can't find any other damage to any of the castings, arms, blade, and guard. The armature turns freely and all three speeds work correctly. The fan starts and runs smoothly. A real craftsman restored this fan because all of the brass is polished and lacquered correctly. The fan has very nice original cloth wiring that runs up to the switch. The height of the fan (including the blade) is 11 inches with a 8 inch diameter blade. It's weighs around 5 pounds (all brass on the outside). This little 8" all brass electric fan belongs in a museum. I have had this fan in my collection for a long time, but recently I decided to sell some fans off to raise the money to buy something else. Besides I have enjoyed just looking at it on a shelf all these years. To find another all restored brass fan in this condition would be hard to do unless you bought it off another collector, and in this day and age that's hard to do. Please review the pictures that I have enclosed to help you make a decision on whether to bid or not. I have tried to carefully show all of the defects or damages on various angles of the item up for auction. I have included 9 pictures that should show the condition of the fan better than I could describe it. If you have any questions please contact me and I will try to answer them for you. Also, please bid only if you are interested in owning this rare fan. I will start the auction out low because I would like to give everyone a chance to own this rare fan. All sales are final, please read the description and look at the pictures carefully, (INSURANCE IS REQUIRED) due to the rarity of this item. If you are using PayPal please wait until I send the invoice because I will have to calculate insurance based on the final sale price. The shipping rate listed in the auction is available to United States bidders only! If you are a International bidder and would like to bid, please email me first, because the shipping rates are much higher than what is posted above. I will try to estimate a rate based on what I believe the postage should be. Also, if you are an International bidder and you are the winning bidder, pay by using PayPal in U.S. funds. Please remember that all sales are final. Payment is required within 5 days after auction closing. Winner will pay actual shipping cost and insurance is required. I will send you an invoice after the closing of the auction with the insurance added on. I do not charge handling fees, you pay actual cost of shipping and insurance. This fan will be difficult to pack because of the weight and fan blade. If you have any questions please send me an email, I will be glad to answer them. I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thanks for your interest and enjoy the auction.
