This is one of those heartbreaker auctions because this beautiful item is damaged and sells as is.It is a stunning covered chocolate cup and saucer made by Royal Vienna in Austria and has the blue beehive mark.It also has a saying on the underside that looks like " Psyche ar Wasser".The first thing to mention is that I am not sure if this is a covered chocolate cup and saucer but according to others that I have seen,it is what it is.You be the judge though and correct me if I am wrong....Now for the bad news....It is badly cracked and also has a handle repair.As you can see in my photos someone tried to repair the handle and the one crack but did a very poor job.I do believe a modern restorer can reverse these problems and make it presentable.The cracks will need attention first because it runs up one side and down another.T are also a few flea bite chips around the bottom edge.The beauty of this piece should still make it desirable to someone who wants to make the effort to restore it.The painting of the fairy is signed B.Thumann.Lots of gold leaf painting and bead work to this one!!The funny thing is the lid is perfect with no issues at all except a little gold wear.Total height is 4 1/2" with the lid on and it is 2 5/8" wide across the top.Shipping will be calculated by your location and sent priority mail.Insurance will be optional
