ABOUT OUR AUCTIONS: Hi everyone,thanks for taking a look at our items. We have had a little rest over the past few weeks, but we are back with some more fine quality and interesting treasures. We also start everything off nice and low always under 20.00 to give everyone a great chance at a nice treasure. Also if you see more than one item you like, we give great combined shipping deals, always at least 50% lower for the second item and even lower for more items. ITEM: Up for auction is a Very Rare c1746 David.Hennell Sterling Silver Cream Jug. The Jug is part of a Large Collection of Silver and other Fine Quality Estate items up for auction, as you can see in the last picture. We have had the Jug in our collection for many years and it is by far the earliest piece of David.Hennell's work we were able to find. The Hallmarks are a little hard to make out in the pictures but this is the first makers mark used by David.Hennell along with London Silver Hallmarks for the year 1746, I believe within the first couple years David was silversmithing, an exceptionally rare find. David and later Robert.Hennell are noted as being 2 of the finest London Silversmiths and examples of t works can be found in many museums, and in the finest silver collections worldwide. At first I thought the jug had been later decorated, however I have found some other period examples with simular designs so I will let you decide. As you can see the Jug has a nice period form, and nice curved legs. The Jug is also in nice original condition with no dints, cracks, or repairs. The Jug weights 80 grams on our postal scale, and measures 4 inches tall, by 2 1/2 inches wide. I have no idea what the over 260 year old David.Hennell Georgian Sterling Silver Cream Jug would be worth. As usual we just start all our items off low, and will let you decide.
