ABOUT OUR AUCTIONS: Hi everyone, thanks for taking a look at our items. Over the next week we will be listing some Fine and Rare examples from our Collection. ITEM: Up for auction is a Very Rare c1840 New Orleans Southern Coin Silver Handled Cup. The Cup is part of a Large Collection of Silver and other Fine Quality Estate items up for auction as you can see in the last picture. I do not know a great deal about the Cup being part of my Parents Estate and Collection. I do believe it is a Very Rare find. As you can see the Cup has a nice early design, Octagonal form, and Flared Out Top Rim making it Very Strong and Durable. The Cup is also Thick Solid Coin Silver throughout weighting 120 grams. The Cup is also in fine original condition with no dints, cracks, or repairs. The Cup measures 3 inches wide not including the Handle, by 4 inches tall. As you can see the Cup is Hallmarked "J.D.ANDERSON" "N ORLs". The Cup does appear to have another mark underneath, but nothing I can make out. I have no idea what the Very Rare c1840 New Orleans Southern Coin Silver Cup would be worth. You do not see to many early examples like this come up for auction. As usual we just start all our items off low, and will let you decide. Like a Real Auction should be!!
