VERY RARE**C1850 VICTORIAN 14K ROSE GOLD & GF WEDDING BANGLE -18gm
This is a STUNNING Circa 1850 Victorian 14K Rose Gold and 14k GF Wedding bangle bracelet with an Etruscan Motife Finial ends..this will suit the serious collector of Victorian Jewelry. It has an antique soft pink rose gold band and the end caps are yellow gold filled for a gorgeous contrast. . This is a fabulous heirloom piece ...and will compliment both rose gold and yellow gold jewelry PLEASE NOTE T APPEARS TO BE DARK AREAS ON THIS BANGLE BUT IT IS SIMPLY REFLECTION ONLY DUE TO THE HIGH SHINE.. IT IS TRULY STUNNING AND WAS SO HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH..AND THE PHOTOS APPEAR RATHER PALE IN COLOR ....BUT THEY WERE TAKEN IN FULL SUNLIGHT TO GIVE A BETTER INDICATION OF ITS APPEARANCE AS ARTIFICIAL LIGHT TENDS TO HIDE IMPERFECTIONS. HISTORYIt is Circa 1850 by design and styling.. These HIgh Victorian bangles are so RARE these days and this one is a true MUSEUM piece! It has a beautiful flowing design - these are called WEDDING bangles....and it just oozes Victorian , and together with the beautiful center, has a beautiful Olde Worlde charm. I have sold the matching one to this last year These were often worn by the Victorian bride, and given as a gift of good luck, or for faith hope and charity..this is truly a nostalgic piece from a bygone era. These are becoming extremely rare, and they command in the upper hundreds to thousands on antique websites. This one is in wonderful antique condition It is not stamped that I can see... and I was informed the band is 14k gold shell . , and the end Finials are 14k gold filled or rolled gold . Prior to 1907 antique gold was not required to be hallmarked for gold content..The outer surface tested positive for 14k gold.DESCRIPTION & SIZING The end caps have an Etruscan look and it has a central catch which opens and closes beautifully . . The crown shaped FINIALS have fine repousse beading with flared edges to complete this piece. The band is tubular and has no dings or dents. This End Finials really are amazing...this captures the eye..it is so shiny..and will get noticed ! Just STUNNING...this is of MUSEUM quality...and a piece meant for GOOD LUCK and PROSPERITY It is very early Victorian and this jewelry is so highly sought after by collectors. This style of bypass is highly prized and these command in the mid to high hundreds on antique websites . It has that antique patina you would expect with quality Victorian jewelry. It is an oval shape and is hinged, and has a front locking fold over clasp. It may have had something through the locking clasp at some time, but once it is latched it seems very secure. T is NO play in the hinge which is very unusual for these pieces. as most have very loose hinges after being worn over time. . .T has been a safety chain at some time which can be replaced if required but is not necessary . The band measures 1/8" in width and is tubular .The Finial ends measure just under 1/2" in length by 5/16" in width. The bangle measures just under 7" inside in keeping with Victorian times and it fits my 6 1/2" wrist like a glove.. so will suit a wrist from 5" - 6 1/2" The look and feel of this bangle is fabulous, it has that smooth feel when putting it on, that usually is associated with solid karat gold. This is in fabulous antique condition ! It really is beautiful , just an exquisite heirloom piece from times goneby It weighs approx 18 grams which further adds to its appeal ! What a lovely gift this would make.. Antique gifts are unique and can be handed down as treasured family heirlooms...and would be perfect for a loved one or an upcoming bridel . This is a MUST for the Victorian collector, or the fastidious or serious collector. The photos do not reflect the beautiful antique rose gold and yellow gold coloring, the photos were taken in full sunlight .and the photos appear brassy ...they do NOT do this gorgeous thing justice at all !
