RARE-C1884-VICTORIAN 12K ROSE GOLD WEDDING BANGLE-25gm I am so thrilled to offer this a Exquisite Antique Victorian 12k Rose Gold Wedding Bangle..........and it is a TRUE ROSE GOLD color and is SOLID NOT HOLLOW. It is in FABULOUS antique condition and would suit the serious or fastidious buyer . IT IS HALLMARKED PATENT JUNE 3, 1884 This is a rare item, due to its unique styling and condition, so dont miss this one! VICTORIAN FLOWER MEANING In Victorian Times the language of flowers was as important as that of being " well dressed" and flowers held special meanings MAIDEN HAIR FERN -Secret Bond of Love IVY- Wedded Love , Fidelity and Affection So this bangle would have been a gift to a loved one...and must have a romantic history HISTORY This is a wedding bangle, and they were often worn by the Victorian bride, and given as a gift of good luck, or for faith hope and charity..this is truly a nostalgic piece from a bygone era. These are becoming extremely rare, and they command in the upper hundreds to thousands on antique websites. It is Circa 1884.. and is stamped inside PAT JUNE 3, 84. It is not stamped for gold content but the outer surface tests positive for 12 karat gold and it is rose gold shell. Antique rose gold shell is a solid outer layer of 12 karat gold on a thin underlying metal core , and in this case the core is probably silver or bronze, and wears just like solid karat gold of today. .A VERY RARE HEIRLOOM BANGLE..and So Ornate ...the entire outer surface has the most beautiful carvings consistingof different patterning on boths sides. on one side are MAIDEN HAIR FERN leaves and the other side has IVY LEAVES and these leaves are flanked by carvings and a background stippled patterning called "snail trail" and this catches the light with every turn !.. a UNIQUE one of a kind piece.. and so detailed... . This style of bangle is highly prized amongst collectors as they are becoming very scarce. High quality examples like this were often 12k gold shell or rolled gold.. and are very collectable and usually stand out from the others. DESCRIPTION & SIZING . . It is so RARE to find such a piece like this..the design is on the entire outer surface ...this is one of the prettiest bangles to wear ...the design and embellishments are STUNNING ... . A Very old and beautiful heirloom indeed, and one you can pass down to future generations. . It is a beautiful antique antique TRUE ROSE GOLD color, quite rare for Victorian times as the rose gold tended to be that buttery hue with a hint of rose gold... and it is excellent as you would expect with quality antique jewelry. The feel of this bangle is fabulous, it has that ultra smooth look and feel when putting it on, that usually is associated with solid karat gold.. It is oval in shape and the inside measures 6 1/2" and it is 3/8" in width and is SOLID NOT HOLLOW .... It has an old tongue and groove closure which locks BEAUTIFULLY with a tight snap...I have a 6 1/2 wrist and it fits me beautifully. The inside of the bangle is also unique in that it is a banded surface with rose gold and yellow gold ..just stunning. The outer fine edge of the bangle is also a soft yellow gold color for a fabulous contrast. it has a gold safety chain for added security..and the safety chain is so unique in that it is a DOUBLE CURBLINK chain , and i rarely see these anymore and demonstrates it high quality of craftsmanship. This is a substantial piece and weighs approx 25 grams, which further adds to its appeal ! This heirloom piece has no dings or dents and is in FABULOUS antique condition! .....the outer surface is just so shiny . The antique rose gold color isnt showing up well in these pictures., it looks brassy but this is so unique and shiny ... please check my feedback so you may bid with confidence..many of my regular customers do state the items are much nicer in person.
