RARE-HEAVY c1905 ANTIQUE 12K ROLLED ROSE GOLD BANGLE-30GM I am so THRILLED to offer this is EXQUISITE Antique 12K Rolled Rose Gold bangle bracelet....that measures 1/2" wide and weighs 30 grams and is stamped inside DEC 26th 1905 PAT PENDING. .. dont miss this one !! This is SO RARE and is made by the highly sought after BATES & BACON and in the ORIGINAL BOX ! I have sold quite a few BATES & BACON bangles but have NEVER seen one in the original box ..and is a truly EXCITING find.. and sure to please the collector of Victorian Heirloom Pieces .. This is a gorgeous TRUE antique rose gold color.. I took most of the photos out in full sun and it appears t are dark areas but it is simply reflection as this so SHINY .! I took one of the photos out of the box as the beautiful soft rose gold color looks rather brassy against the green interior of the presentation box. This is a great piece and is called the "WINNA" bangle bracelet. The box alone will appeal to many as it is SO RARE and due to its condition . It is lined with dark sage green velvet and has the original little holding strap. HISTORY It is Circa 1905 and it stamped inside 26th December 1905 It is not stamped inside but the outer surface tests positive for a minimum of 12 karat gold , this is a 12 karat rolled gold bangle with a thin internal metal core to give it strength and rigidity. T is a makers mark .. BATES & BACON BATES & BACON was formed in 1857 until 1930 and commenced trading under the name of Skinner, Viall .They are reknowned for their rolled gold items of the era of the WINNIE bracelet bangle. & Company and in 1858 the name was changed to Bates , Capron & Williams, but two Page 6 years later the senior member of the concern sold his interests and began business in his own name, taking George M. Bacon into partnership in 1867, and operating as Bates & Bacon . The firm engaged in the production of rolled gold plated bracelets High quality examples like this were often Metal Core Rolled Gold and are very collectable and usually stand out from the others. .. DESCRIPTION & SIZING It is a beautiful antique soft rose gold color, that soft pink rosey hue.... unlike the deep rose gold of today... and the patina is excellent as you would expect with quality antique jewelry. The entire front surface has a wonderful ETRUSCAN carvings.. so elaborate.. and i have NEVER seen any patterning quite like this one ... .. and the interior is plain and smooth ....just a BREATHTAKING bangle.... the design is so beautifully carved it almost has a three dimensional quality..and sparkles at every turn..! This is a MUST for the antique rose gold bangle collector . The back and interior are plain and smooth.. and this piece is just so shiny ! This is a hinged bangle and it has a side push button locking clasp that is extremely strong and locks superbly with a crisp snap.... The hinge is strong and tight and is in PERFECT condition The inside measures just over 7 " and would fit a wrist up from 5 1/2" to 7" This weighs approx 30 grams, which further adds to its appeal ! The only fault I can see is that t is a tiny dimple on the back and due to the bangles wonderful condition with the absence of wear marks I would assume this may have been damaged in transit..but this is not visible when being worn and is consistent with its vast age.. and apart from that in FABULOUS antique condition ! These are becoming so hard to find these days... and this one is UNIQUE and will appeal to the serious buyer of the collector of quality Victorian pieces. ..you will NOT find another like this one in its original box and this gorgeous condition. These boxes alone fetch extremely high book prices on antique websites and i will be watching this auction with interest Please note that t are some dark shadows in the photos which are seen on the edges of this gorgeous old piece, but it is just my reflection in the camera ..and the gorgeous antique rose gold color isnt showing up well in these pictures.it looks brassy...
