Hello. Thank you for viewing my auction. Hocking Glass Company made the Cameo; or Ballerina; or Dancing Girl pattern from 1930 through 1934, one of the most collectible depression glass patterns. One thing I love about this pattern is the way it glows so lovely under a black light, some call this vaseline glass. I have a specical cabinet with a black light to display my vaseline glass pieces. My reference books list this particular piece at a book value of $125 because of its rarity. Most Cameo dinner plates are 9-1/2 inches. This green Cameo large dinner plate is 10-1/2 inches and it differs from the the 10.5 inch sandwich plate in that it has the large center; as opposed to the small center of the 10-1/4" sandwich plate (as per my favorite depression glass author, Gene Florence). This piece has minor scratches that I have been able to detect. Really, it looks as if it was not used much, if ever. It has no chips or nicks. It does have 2 bubbles on the surace of the plate. They are small and appear as original bubble defects from this approx. 75+ year old depression glass; the bubbles have indentations surrounding their recesses which indicate to me that they are as produced from the factory these many years ago during the depression era. Please bid with confidence as I guarantee my glass to be as described and I am very good at read more
