Leonard's Kachina dolls are made with a special type of creativity - full of love and kindness that is uniquely Hopi and uniquely Leonard. His Kachina dolls have been collected and displayed all over the United States and abroad and can be found in many fine art galleries and museums.Leonard Selestewa is a member of the Sun Clan and a master carver from the Village of Moencopi (Lower) located on the Hopi Reservation in Northeastern Arizona. Leonard's love of nature is also reflected in his love of living off the land as a subsistence farmer. Leonard has only recently returned to his love of carving while maintaining his family's farm and for the better part of the last few years he has spent much time working to secure environmental and social justice for his Hopi people to protect their land, water and culture.
