Such as: ANTIQUE BRASS CANDLESTICK 1450-1750 BY JOHN ROBERT GROVE; An Early book covering the beautiful shapes of the capstans, mid-drips, wrought iron, etc. Mr. Grove was an Advance Collector in the field of Early Lighting devices and his collection is shown in the rare book which normally sells for well over 100.00 Next Tittle: CANDLEHOLDERS IN AMERICA 1650-1900: JOESEPH T. BUTLER. Beautiful Book covering the Federal Period, chippindale brass sticks, Queen Anne, etc, extensive pictures and text, a great copy of a very hard book to find! Next: OLD DOMESTIC BASE-METAL CANDLESTICKS: RONALD F. MICHAEiLS. The STANDARD on Early Bronze, Brass Candlesticks, great pictures, written by an Authority on the subject. Sadly though, Mr. Michaelis never saw the final book as he passed away before it went to print, he would have been proud, this is truly a Classic on the subject. Next: THE LEAR COLLECTION. The 'LEAR COLLECTION" Needs no introduction, it was by far an impressive, life long attempt to collect Early, perfect examples of Brass-Base Candlesticks. First, the Large-heavy book, by CHRISTOPHER BANGS, Beautiful pictures and complete text on each image shown, this book is in MINT condition. A great value in my auction!! NEXT comes the Auction of the 'LEAR" Collection. TUESDAY DECEMBER 15 1998 THE LEAR COLLECTION TO BE SOLD THROUGH CHRISTIE'S. A Good Copy of perhaps the RAREST OF ALL CHRISTIE'S CATALOGS!! This catalog sells for up to 190.00 through rare book dealers, it's a beautiful catalog and an impressive fron cover, a simple candle that had it's wick "Snuffed" Very Fine Condition for such a Scarce book. I am selling these books because the Candlesticks have been sold, 20 years of collecting and these books have been a joy to read and to learn from, you will be happy to receive such great books in great condition.
