You're bidding on a Very Rare and Very Hard to Find Antique 1930 to 1935 Art Deco Styled COLT Book Cigarette Humidor made from Bakelite. Signed COLT'S PATENT ARMS MFG CO. HARTFORD, CONN., and Titled " The Courtship Of Lady Nicotine" on Front and side. The piece opens like a book to show a place for your cigarettes, lighter or matches, The only thing a believe is missing is the striker that went in the little piece that pulls out w signature is, which is very common do to rust or wear and they were discarded. In all My years This is The Best One I've seen and only one in this Art deco pattern with geometric points! It is in Excellent shape for it's age, does have minor scratches and slight wear on bottom of book, on all 4 corners on triangles, and still the best I've seen! T are no cracks, chips, or repairs! The edges are factory rough cut. Only has very slight wear on gold guilding on fake pages on all 3 sides, Most books have barely any gold left, This one is almost all t The 2 Metal Hinges are original and still perfect, In fact Everything is Original. A very nice piece of COLT memorabilia and or advertising!! The interior is excellent, no scratches or anything broken, very clean. Humidor book has a beautiful look to it with it's dark rough and the shinny wood grain color Bakelite. Measures 6 1/2" by 5" and is 1 3/8" thick. After doing some research I noticed no one had the same date, they were saying these were made from the late 1800's and other early 1900's. Well I took a shot and grabbed my Huge Colt An American Legend info book and found one, same exact book but in a different pattern/design. This is a QUOTE straight from book: By The Colt Plastics Division, Several Tobacco-oriented accessories of C. 1930-35. Humidors, Electrical outlets, and Buttons all Marked Colt Are Sought by collectors. Some item's Like the Humidor pictured above can demand very high prices. (Pictured In t book) Non-Gun products by the company fit well as conversation pieces in a Gun Rum or Library. The division was sold in the World War II Period.
