RARE Complete SET OF 12 WEDGEWOOD MONTHLY TILES Up for auction with NO RESERVE is this EXTREMELY RARE Complete Set of 12 Matching Mid to late 19th Century, Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Etruria, "Old English" Blue and White Transfer Porcelain Fireplace Tiles featuring the Months of the Year. These FABULOUS tiles were designed after the wellknow Artwok of Kate Greenaway . All with "Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Etruria" molded on the back. Some are also marked "Old English" in blue . All measures 6" square and have the name of the month along the bottom edge of the face of the tile. They are in as found condition and could use a good cleaning . From a PRIVATE COLLECTOR. The Set of 12 includes: January - two young girls shaking hands (has a tight 1-3/8" hairline on the right side but not noticeable unless you are looking for it) February - a young lad escorting his young love through a snowy forest March - a young girl with a young lad reaching for his hat which the wind has swept away April - a young lady with her little brother, both in stocking feet!, holding an umbrella in the pouring rain May - a mother and her child picking blossoms from a tree June - a young lad and lady in a wheat field July - an older sister and younger brother at a ship yard/boat dock August - a young maiden feeding the chickens September - a woman picking fruit with her dog watching intently (tile was broken at some point and was glued many years ago - repair has held up wonderfully and is very solid) October - a young lad with a walking stick and a pig with a stone bridge in the background (top corners have old repair of two small chips - not noticeable unless you are looking for them) November - a shipwrecked sailor on the shore in his bare feet!
