This lovely old oyster plate is the third of 9 that I have to offer this week. It is hand painted transfer-ware. The painted detail is in shades green, yellow, blue, red and brown. T are 5 oyster wells, each decorated with a floral scene, and a center well, which is in the shape of a 5-pointed star. This beautiful piece is 8 1/2 inches and is marked on bottom COPELAND late SPODE "HERON" R #616-- CANADIAN PACIFIC OCEAN SERVICES. Also on bottom is an impressed M 19 and a B, a large 3-6 and remnants of an orange mark that I do not recognize. T are no visible signs of damage. This plate does show signs of wear normal to age, including light crazing. I do not know the exact age, but it dates from 1915 to 1921. I have 8 other differing oyster plates available and will happily combine items to save on shipping. Thank you for viewing and please see my other items of interest and envy!
