DESCRIPTION:

An extremely rare Chinese porcelain bowl, decorated in green enamels with five clawed Imperial dragons. This dish was probably made in the Imperial factory to special order for one of the Chinese hierarchy.

Underglaze blue Daoguang reign mark in kaishu script, and of the period.

SIZE:

100mm (4 inches) Diameter

CONDITION:

Several small chips (frits) to rim. Wear to enamels and gilding.

DATING:
Daoguang (1820 to 1850) mark and period.

COMMENT:

Daoguang reign marks in kaishu script are quite rare.

Seldom are genuine mark and period Chinese porcelain porcelains offered on eBay, especially at 1 cent start and no reserve.

The items to be sold this week include a number of mark and period porcelain dishes and bowls from Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang and Guangxu reigns.
