Offered from my personal collection is a great find for the collector of vintage Disney. This is a COMPLETE childs lusterware teaset, circa 1930's with the original box. Finding an entire set is very, very hard to do. I have been collecting for almost 20 years and have only seen complete sets four or five times in all that time. These were made for children and of course were played with. When made no one expected these to be around 75 years later. I have had this set for about 15 years now but am starting to delete items from my collection as I am running out of room. This twenty three (23) piece china teaset comes with the original box as sold in the 1930's. The teapot is signed Mickey Mouse Corp by Walt E. Disney, Made in Japan. The Walt E. Disney mark was used only on very early pieces. Included are the following pieces: . -One teapot with lid - 4 " high NO DAMAGE -One sugar bowl with lid 2 7/8" high NO DAMAGE - 1 cream jug 2 1/8" high NO DAMAGE -6 teacups 1 1/8" high NO DAMAGE -6 saucers 3 1/4" in diameter NO DAMAGE -6 cake plates 3 3/4" in diameter - 5 NO DAMAGE, 1 old break glued back together see photo -1 box 10" x 12" x 3 1/2" with fitted liner T are six place setttings or trios, each with a cup, saucer and plate; T are six different scenes - each 3 piece set matches each other. As mentioned above the only damage is to one plate - Mickey and Minney in a row boat, that was broken before I added it to my collection. It was glued back together- see photo. Considering the age of this set, and that it was made for use by children, it's pretty amazing. I believe you could find a replacement for this piece, or, as I did, just keep it this way. The box shows a lot of wear and is not in great shape. It has tape on it and the corners are crushed. Still, it is the original box- the set came packed in this for the kids back in the 1930's, and it has the original fitted insert that was made to hold each piece, so I will send it along to the new owner. If you are a Disney collector, as I am, you know that it is very very hard to find a complete set, and even more so to find the original box. I have priced at a VERY REASONABLE opening bid - only about $10 per piece!! I paid $450.00+ tax for it in the 1990s. What a FABULOUS find for the Disney collector.
