Material: Bronze Condition: Very good condition with nice green and some brown patina overall; The bell still has original soil deposit. (Please see photos for more details) The age-acquired nice green patina is untouched and original . The surface has expected corrosion and abrasion as a consequence of age. Size: Bell : Diameter: 2.99 inches (7.6 cm.) Height: 4.33 inches (11 cm) Weight: 708 grams Stand: Height: 9.17 inches (23.3 cm.) Weight: 544 grams Note: This is an original, authentic and rare Dong Son bell. It has an interesting spiral and shark teeth design along the body. The bell is filled with the kind of earth deposit . This bell may have been found in Vietnam (Thanh Hoa province w modern day Hanoi is located) or in Cambodia . The Dong Son culture spread south-west from the north of Vietnam and appears - through a related or, in any case, a contemporaneous culture - as far as the Indonesian peninsula. Studies have suggested that the Dong Son Culture period began approximately in the 7-6 centuries B.C. and lost its predominance and individuality at about the 3 century A.D. under the pressure of the Chinese Han domination of northern Vietnam .
