This item is a RARE! ~ Solid Glass ~ "GROUSE" by the Duncan & Miller Glass Co. ca.1940's. This beautiful bird, the RUFFED GROUSE is "The State Bird of Pennsylvania" and was created in solid glass by the Duncan & Miller Glass Co. in the early 1940's. Only a limited number were produced, as they were reportedly difficult to take from the mould. Anyone that collects solid glass animals knows this is the Holy Grail of the Duncan & Miller animals. Fewer then fifty are known to exist so not many come up for sale. This bird stands 7 inches tall x 8 ½" long and weights almost 5 pound. The condition is excellent showing NO damage. The body does contain about 6 or 7 small air bubbles. I will notify winner by e-Bay Checkout Winning bidder pays $20.00 Shipping and Insurance (included).
