is one of my personal favorites, a piece of very early Roseville that is quite uncommon and historic. This is a 7 1/2" tall 2 handled fruit jar from the early German Farmware line, with a 3" base and a 2 1/4" opening. Besides the book reference I have shown below (from p.199 of American Art Pottery by Dick Sigafoose ), t is also a reference in Roseville Pottery for Love or Money by Buxton, and an auction listing from Missouri in October 2007. A Roseville expert will know the piece well. Our stoneware jar is in superb condition with a tiny date "1889" on the bottom probably hand-written, which is within one year of the date given in the Sigafoose book (and presumably the Buxton book as well.) The piece is unsigned as was normal for this period of Roseville, except of course for the written date. Please inspect the pictures of this wonderful piece. The beautifully shaped and applied handles peak at about 1/16 of an inch above the rim of the jar. No chips, cracks, or damage after nearly 120 years which is a testament to the quality of pottery made by Roseville.
Shipping by weight WORLD-WIDE, and US Parcel Post or Priority Mail. Excellent secure double-boxed packaging on all ceramics. We accept all payments plus Paypal from buyers & bidders worldwide. Thanks for reading and good luck bidding. PLEASE ENLARGE THE PHOTOS BELOW
