The Dedham Pottery Company began business in 1896 and is emblematic of the spirit of the Arts and Crafts movement established in the 1880s. They were in business from 1896-1943. This large-sized 12" rabbit charger is extremely rare. The charger is in mint condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, fleabites, hairlines or repairs. The crackle glaze is of the highest quality with fine and even crackling and no uneven slips or streaks, something serious collectors look for. The quality of the painting shows very clean outlines and the deep blue cobalt decoration has a very uniform color with just a few light areas & tThe foot rim is completely damage-free and perfect! No utensil marks on the bed of the plate. The glaze is bright and shiny and appears to have never been used...just carefully displayed and loved. This charger has the old blue ink Dedham stamp with the typical glaze misses on the bottom commonly found on the earliest examples. The Dedham mark on the bottom is from the early period (1896-1928). This rare example of a large antique Dedham Pottery 12" rabbit attern charger is in pristine undamaged condition. You will never find one in finer condition.
