Rare early Gustav Stickley tapered leg plant stand in mahogany, I haven't run across this form in any of my catalog reprints but it is pictured in the new Warmans Arts & Crafts furniture price guide and in an early David Rago auction catalog, (see pic). I had another one of these a few years ago in oak and wasn't able to find much history on it then, so if anyone can share additional info I'll gladly post it. Untouched original condition, the dark finish is in very good shape with some crazing, a few areas of edge wear, a few scrapes and scuffs but all it really needs is a good waxing. The inner shelf finish has a plant pot ring that doesn't appear to be in the wood. Structurally tight, the leg bottoms aren't beveled as on all the other examples I've seen and are in good shape. Pegged construction. No shop mark evident. Dimensions 28 1/2" h, top 12" x 12". An interesting early example with great patina and presence. Please email me with any questions/concerns/additional info etc. I'm in the process of moving and paring down my collection so would prefer this to be picked up but I can drop it off at a local pack and ship place to be shipped UPS/DHL with the buyer paying for packing/shipping costs, I'm guesstimating in the 75.00 range.
