VERY RARE SQUARE SHAPED EARLY RS PRUSSIA LARGE SERVING PLATTER - SIMPLY GORGEOUS! I have for auction today a very early RS Prussia, large serving platter, unmarked but this pattern is known to collectors everyw as one of RS Prussia's wonderful early pieces. The platter is in excellent condition and appears to have been rarely, if ever used. I've been a collector for many years and have never seen this mold before or since I acquired it. In the inside of the tray is a very large floral transfer vignette of soft pale lavender, faint light green to pale turquois, yellows and pink to magenta florals, gold grape and grape leaf tracery shadow flowers, and outlined around the rim in golds and copper colors as well as some cottage green with a raised lattice pattern scroll, along with soft beige hues. This is a very impressive serving platter that has minimal gilt loss, no utensil marks, and is just a beautiful piece. T is a firing issue on the back side of the tray of a small flake and closed hairline of approximately 1-1/4" that have both been glazed over and must have happened in it's making. T are no other chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. It measures 12-1/4" corner to corner and about 11-1/4" wide This would make a beautiful addition to any collection.
