EARLY CROCK DESCRIPTION: F rom my personal collection, presented is an early SEMI-OVOID CROCK . Bearing the mark, N. CLARK / ATHENS , this was made by NATHAN CLARK from ATHENS, NY d uring the period of production from 1813-1829 . The striking characteristic of this piece is its early form and double-sided decoration/markings. It has an early semi-ovoid shape with a wide collar. The brush decoration in cobalt blue is on one side and the cobalt blue incised impression N. CLARK/ATHENS is on the other side. A fantastic piece of early stoneware in good condition! DIMENSIONS: 9" tall, 7" diameter CONDITION: Pictures of multiple views of the crock have been taken to allow accurate assessment of the conditon. PLEASE NOTE: Front rim chip or manufacturing flaw, stone pings .
