This is a rare and not to often seen early WWII Army Nurse grouping. The lot belonged to a nurse who lived in Farmington NH. I believe from the research I have done her maiden name was Krammer and her married name was Ambrose. She married a doctor in the Army and they later had a practice in Farmington. I believe she was a flight nurse but we were not able to find her wings in the estate. The lot includes the following; 1. Navy blue wool jacket with maroon ttrim dated June 26, 1942. QM tag inside pocket reads (Covert Blue Nurses, Fierman - Kolmer CO Inc, Cont. W669-qm-19730, Dated June 26, 1942, Q.M.C. Tent.,Spec. P.Q.D. No. 160, Dated March 30, 1942, P.O.-13457, Stock No. 55-c-37156-30 16L). The jacket is marked a size 16 however by today's standards the measurements are 15 1/2" from shoulder to shoulder, 29" from top of collar to the bottom of the jacket, sleeves are 23"L. The jacket is complete with gold colored army buttons, belt, and air corp patch. The jacket has a tag stapled to the inside with her maiden name. jacket has satin lining. The jacket has no holes tears or stains. 2. Blue wool skirt no QM tag does have size tag size 18 W 28 L27, Skirt has CONMAR zipper USA. Skirt has no holes tears or stains.3. 1 Navy Blue with maroon trim overseas cap. The cap has QM label (Alpine Cap Co., Cont.W - 669 - Q.M. 16440, Dated March 5, 1942, US ARMY SPEC No. 8 - 125, Dated May 2, 1941, Stock No. 73 - c- 18050 - 30, Phila Q.M. Depot 7 1/8. The hat is in excellent condition with no holes or tears does have some discoloration from wear on inside.4.Navy Blue wool great coat complete with zip out liner and all gold colored Army buttons. Jacket has QM tag (size 16R , The Printz - Biederman Co., Contract Dated April 29, 1942, W-669 - QM 18143, Spec P.D.Q. No. 123 - A, Stock No. , 55-0-1346-42, Phila Q.M. Depot.) Jacket measurements are 16" shoulder to shoulder, 42" from to of collar to bottom of jacket, sleeves are 23". Jacket is in excellent condition with no holes tears or stains and is complete with buttons and belt.5. 1 wool green Army dress jacket with the early plastic WAAC eagle buttons size 16R. jacket is 16" shoulder to shoulder 28" from top of collar to bottom, sleeves are 23". Jacket has QM Tag (Jackets wool OD Women's WAAC, Officers, Size 16R, Ben Greenholtz, Cont. W-669 QM 29153, Dated May 19, 1943, Spec No. PQD 215C, Stock No. 55 - J - 557 - 36, Phila QM Depot.). Jacket does have some mothing but is still very wearable and displayable.6.1 OD green wool skirt with QM tag which reads ( skirts, wool OD Dark women's officers, 14, David Cohen & Son, Cont. W - 669 - qm27670, Dated April 9, 1943,QMC Tent Spec P Q D No. 220 C, Dated 1/16/43, Stock no. 55 - s- 37014, Phila QM Depot) . Waist is 27" Length is 26 1/2". Skrit is complete with zipper which still works great. Skirt has no holes tears or stains.7. 1 Nurses darl olive drab worsted wool tropical skirt, has QM tag which reads (skirts service tropical, worsted nurses dark, olive drab, size 14R, Lyonelle Modes, dated may 25, 1944, PO 11097, Spec. No. 55 - s - 32825, Pat dated April 8, 1944, Phila QM Depot). 27 1/2" waist length is 26 1/4". skirt is complete with Talon zipper which works great. Has no holes tears or stains of any kind.8. 1 dark OD nurses skirt has QM tag which reads ( skirts wool OD dark womens, officers, nurses, size 14, AMDUR clothing Co. Inc, Cont. W - 669 - qm - 27270, dated Mar 26, 1943, QMC Tent Spec PQD No. 220C dated 1/16/43, stock No. 55 - s - 37014, Phila QM Depot). skirt has a 27" waist and length is 26 1/2". Skirt is complete with Conmar zipper which works great. Skirt has one small moth moth hole on the front.9. 1 raincoat same size as great coat no military markings. It was packed with all of the uniforms so I am assuming it was a private purchase rain coat early on when they were still figuring out uniforms. It was with the grouping so I am leaving it with the grouping. The coat is heavily discolored stained and from experince this will never clean up. <...
