RARE WWII USAAF Type A-10 standard modified pilots oxygen mask manufactured by Acushnet, Massachusetts. Grey rubber is nice and pliable, slightly grubby from storage but no damage or wear. Nose wire is intact and t is no stress on the holes w it fits. Mask is fitted with complete webbing straps including the very rare snap fasteners bar on the left, circular clip on the right, so it will fit straight onto your WWII Air Corps flight helmet. The A-10 oxygen mask was issued in 4 different variants: the first model (A-10 standard) included a nose-piece and full head harness; the second type (model A-10 standard modified) was converted from the first by having the nose piece removed and side straps fitted; the third type (model A-10 standard revised) was made from new moulds to the same specs as the second type; finally the A-10a replaced all three. This is the second type - probably the rarest of them all, because all of this type were issued and used up. Nice early manufacture date of 4-42. Buyer will pay postage at cost.
