Preferred Checkout Dimensions: 31" wide x 16" deep x 66" high Stock Number: MK7-6009 Approximate Weight: 120 lbs. This BUREAU BOOKCASE was made in ENGLAND CIRCA 1900. We purchased it in WILTSHIRE, ENGLAND. The BUREAU BOOKCASE is made of OAK. It has a rich, DEEP OAK PATINA This is an ENGLISH VICTORIAN ARTS & CRAFTS BUREAU BOOKCASE. It is in very good condition. The Cornice is beautifully pronounced and formed. At the center is a Glazed Door embellished with Oak Trim in a Rectangular Pattern. It opens to reveal a lovely Display Area. Flanking the Door are Open Display Compartments. A Scalloping Cornice flows above the Long Shelf below. The Slope Front of the Secretaire below opens to reveal a Six Pigeon Holes with Two Small Drawers. The Work Surface is Oak. It is supported upon Oak Lopers which draw out from beneath. This is a fabulously functional interior, perfect for use with a Lap Top. T are Two Drawers below with an Additional Display Area for Storing Books at the bottom of the piece. The Ornate Arts & Crafts Hinges, Escutcheon, Drop Pull, Hammered Back Plates and Bale Pulls are all original and an integral part of the design of the piece. The Piece is supported upon Stile Feet which when viewed from the Side are carved into a delightful scallop. The Pierced Quadrifoils which flank the Display Shelves are pure Arts & Crafts! This is a unique English Victorian Arts & Crafts Bureau Bookcase. It is quite elegant and the highly collectible.
