For auction is a Brown Fair Winds Covered Casserole Vegetable Dish . This piece is in Excellent Condition except for a few factory glaze imperfections in the base. Never Used . NO stains, crazing, chips, or hairlines. No Utensil marks . I have had this in the cupboard so it has not had use. This two tab-handled dish measures 8 1/2" in diameter and 9 3/4" from tab handle to end of opposite handle. The base stands 3" tall without the lid. The lid is 8" in diameter. This dish is one of the Historical Scenes dishes that were offered at the same time as the Liberty Blue in the area grocery store over 33 years ago. The base of this covered dish says, Sloop 'Experiment' off Second Bar - Canton Fair Winds Original Engravings depicting Historical Scenes of Chinese Export to America. Alfred Meakin Staffordshire England John Street during the Revolutionary War. England is impressed in the base. This will make a nice hard-to-find addition to complete a dinnerware service in the Fair Winds pattern. NO RESERVE! The cover shows an active scene with an old sailing clipper ship. The base to the serving dish has a picturesque scene with chidren at play in a street full of homes, businesses, and factories. I believe this to be an unusual rare piece to find.
