Classic beauty, Fenton's Persian Medallion ever-so-useful Hair Receiver in rich Marigold! Made in an Oriental design, Bright and glossy marigold iridescence this over the whole piece. This is older Fenton carnival production, circa 1911. Harking from those early days when Victorians, especially royalty which this was designed for, had a vessel for everything, this charming bowl would be present on a lady's dresser for hair brush/comb residual. It is a substantially gorgeous piece with perfect detailed embossing of the Persian Medallion design.Receiver is 4 ½" across, and stands 3 ½" tall. Fenton went the extra mile with this pattern, and this is a prime example. Well-struck mold, detailing all the intricacies Fenton intended: medallions in fine stitchery! I have only seen one other piece like this on auction and it sold for $142.00 Piece is nearly perfect! NO chips, no nicks, no cracks! Rim and c ollar base are perfect: no chips, no cracks. Mold lines from manufacture are felt but meet smoothly. Few bubbles, and fewer straw marks, expected in Fenton's older glass. Piece is well-iridized, inside and out, but t is a partial swath of darker iridescence across its midriff, as the second photo shows. A tad of wobble to the base, even thought the base collar looks perfect. It is as near perfect as a piece this old can be with what they had to work with one hundred years ago. A piece this exquisite should be insured and will be included in the shipping cost. Piece is unmarkedMy other auctions contain Fenton but t are only a few pieces left.
