For your consideration we are pleased to offer fresh out of a local estate this Rare Find an Anchor Hocking Royal Ruby 14 1/2 Inch Serving Plate / Platter with its Original Box. This is a great piece in good condition. The platter has a nice design to it, almost reminiscent of a petalware type pattern but it is the "Classic Pattern". The edges are scalloped all around and the platter lifts gently up on the edges. It measures 14 3/8 Inches across, even though the box says 14 1/2 Inches and stands 1 1/4 Inch off the table. The platter looks like it has never been used and shows no scuffing or scratching. This is definitely Anchor Hocking true vintage Royal Ruby as shown in evidence by the box and the picture on the box of this exact tray. The box does show its age and staining but, I have been dealing in depression Era glassware for over 40 years and have never seen this piece and I showed it to a friend of mine today with similar years of experience and he has never seen one. 80 years between us and never seen one, add the original box to this and you have one great piece. Don't know exactly how many Royal Ruby Collectors t are out t but do any of you have this one in your collection! A truly rare piece with original box and with our ridiculously low opening bid and no reserve we let this one find its way into someone's rarity collection or Royal Ruby collection. A great piece with a great price and NO reserve. All the items we sell are vintage unless otherwise noted. We do our best to describe any damage or wear that could effect the value of the item. We will research and try to identify any maker of our items, however on unsigned items we can make no guarantees and we can only offer our best opinion; the final determination will be up to the winning bidder. Now for the stuff it has become necessary to say.....We are now using Ebays calculated shipping on most auctions so that the winning bidder is only charged Actual costs. We do not charge for handling or packing supplies but since the new STAR rating system penalizes Sellers for only "Reasonable" shipping , we have found it necessary to change our flat rate shipping policy. Please keep in mind that when rating this transaction anything less than 5 stars does penalize us and if you feel you had a problem, just E-mail and let us know. We want everyone of our Buyers to have a 5-Star Transaction We ship all our Jewelry and watches boxed and via Priority Mail; on International we boxed the package and use Flat Rate Envelopes when possible to save our International Buyers on shipping fees. Please do not ask us to ship via any other method except International Express as we will not do it; shipping via International Priority or International Express are the only methods that allow us to track packages going out of the United States. We happily ship World Wide, however we must ask our International Buyers to pay via PayPal or E-mail us PRIOR to Bidding to make other arrangements. ALL Auctions must be paid for in US Dollars, sorry No Euro's. For all of our US Buyers we accept PayPal or POSTAL MONEY ORDERS ONLY! If you like what you see in our auction, PLEASE BID EARLY, we rarely relist anything and once the auction is over it is too late! I appreciate all the E-mails asking us to re-list but it traditionally is not our policy. Due to recent problems with non-paying Bidders we are now forced to require all Bidders to contact us within 48 hours to specify means of payment. If no contact is made or Payment received within 5 days of Auctions end we will relist the item or offer it to the under bidder and file a Non-Paying Bidder Report with Ebay. We require Insurance on all auctions; all items are packed with care; however, once it leaves our hands we are not responsible and if t is a problem it will be the Buyers responsiblity to file the proper Insurance claims for refunds.
