Rare German Black Black Forest Schotten Miniature Clock

I am offering up for auction a rare Black Forest clock that is know as a Schotten-Uhr clock. These style clock with the wooden dials with paint decoration were quite common wag on the walls from this area in Germany. This one, however, is the rarer miniature size with a dial that is only a little over 6 1/2" High by about 5" across. It also has an alarm mechanism which I understand is another unusual feature for these clocks. The wooden dial is unrestored and the paint decoration is in good shape. The dial is slightly convex and from the chapter ring to the center arbor the dial is raised. The dial has a crack clearly visible in the pictures. It appears structurally solid and probably was glued back together at some time. It doesn't look too bad and I'm sure it could be professionally touched up if need be. The movements plates are wooden with brass gears and steel pinions. The pinions and other steel parts have some surface rust and will need some restoration work to make the clock functional. The movement appears complete. T are no weights for the time or alarm mechanism, no pendulum, and the top mounted alarm bell is missing. This one will take some knowledge and some part hunting to get it up and running again but based on it's rarity I'm sure it would be worth the effort. It a fine display piece for your collection even as is. The backplate is signed, probably by the maker. T are reference books available from the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors w you can probably research this maker. You don't see many of these clocks come to market and is an opportunity to own one. Being sold as is and offered at no reserve. Please feel free to email any questions. Thanks.
