This auction is for TWO 'Very Rare' never used Ceremonial German Hunting Knives. These knives and the display box were made for me when I lived in Germany. They were made by the Widder Family in Solingen Germany. They are beautiful beyond words. Each knife is etched with a beautiful hunting scene on both sides of the blade and across the top of the blade. The scenes include Wild Boar, Red Stag, Roe Deer, Pheasants, Fox, trees and traditional motifs. The blades are 13 inches long with a total length of 21 inches including the stag (hirsch) handle and decorative top knot. The sheaths are made to store the knives with an exact opening - one side is thicker than the other never allowing you to insert the knife incorrectly. One handle has Pewter with Horn. T are two dog heads on the hilt a red Stag engraved on one side of the handle and a Wild Boar on the other. T is also decorative engraving in the Pewter portion of the top of the Horn handle and a dog with bird in his mouth on the hand protector. The Pewter sheath has some leaf engraving and a raised acorn. The second has a Brass with Horn handle. It is exactly the same as the Pewter except for the sheath. The Brass sheath is plain. They are stored and can be displayed in the box shown in the photo. The box was made just to display these knives. It too was made in Germany. These
