For sale is a very nice Gettysburg matchsafe from the 1910s or a little earlier. 2 5/8 inches long. On one side it has General Mead's Headquarters and on the other side it has "W Jennie Wade Was Killed July 30, 1863 Gettysburg" with a photo of Jennie Wade on the top right corner and her monument on the lower left corner. The scenes are in celluloid. Excellent condition. Some foxing (stain spots) on the General Mead side. The Jennie Wade side is in perfect shape. No cracks or tears to the celluloid which wraps around the entire piece. Edges of the celluloid are also in perfect shape. The match safe is in perfect working condition. Original patina on the metal. Never polished. Inside is clean. No dents or dings. Shipping and handling is $5.00. Foreign bidders are welcome with the shipping costs to be determined at the end of the auction. I am liquidating my collection of antiques which I have collected for over 30 years.
